Dr. Ian Copestake, president of the William Carlos Williams Society, will be giving a talk this Friday entitled "William Carlos Williams, Paterson and the 'disaster' of T.S. Eliot's Success".

William Carlos Williams was an American poet and physician closely associated with modernism and imagism. Copestake will discuss William Carlos Williams’s brand of modernism with particular focus on Williams's multi-volume poem Paterson (1946–1958).

Dr. Ian Copestake is an independent scholar and editor of the William Carlos Williams Review.
