A group of our master’s students is putting on a workshop tomorrow called “Breaking the Silence: Negotiating Hybrid Identities in African Diasporic Literature”, as part of the “Dear White People” symposium.

Within a historically male canon, writers like Taiye Selasi and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie offer a female perspective on the aftereffects of postcolonial migration. You are invited to discuss and exchange ideas about the way in which migration and silence play a central role in the construction of hybrid identities in their novels Ghana Must Go and Americanah.
