ACADEMIC BACKGROUND


With a first degree in Language and Linguistics from the University of York, England, I have taught English – academic, general and business - in various schools and institutions, across all levels and age groups in Great Britain, Greece, Mauritus, Spain, and France. Since 2002 I have been teaching in higher educationand am at present a full-time lector at the University of Freiburg. In 2007 I completed an M.A. with distinction in English Language Teaching from the University of Reading, England, by distance study.

RESEARCH INTERESTS


Elearning, autonomous learning, language(s) & intercultural communication – I am an avid learner of languages myself (French, German, Spanish, Greek, Hindi, Swedish, to various degrees of mastery!)

INTERNATIONAL TEACHING


I regularly take the opportunity to hold seminars and workshops as a guest lecturer outside Germany. Under the Erasmus Teaching Staff Mobility Scheme I have held seminars at the Universities of Santiago and Lleida, Spain, and at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. In addition, I have been a guest lecturer at the University of Hanoi, Vietnam, and the University of Bangkok, Thailand. I have also held worksops in schools in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, and Zenica, Bosnia.
